Cross Country Carriers is proud to announce its commitment to join the UK Armed Forces Covenant agreement. This commitment is a demonstration of our dedication to supporting the armed forces community, including serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families. By signing this covenant, we are reinforcing our belief in treating all individuals with respect and ensuring that members of the armed forces are integrated seamlessly into our workforce.
Understanding The Armed Forces Covenant
The Armed Forces Covenant is a pledge to recognise the value and sacrifices made by the armed forces community. It encompasses a set of principles that organisations, like Cross Country Carriers, promise to uphold. These principles are aimed at promoting the welfare and well-being of those who serve or have served in the military, as well as their families.
Our commitment to the covenant means that we wholeheartedly endorse these principles and are dedicated to putting them into practice.
We promise to:
Promote the Armed Forces:
We will actively promote our status as an Armed Forces-friendly organisation to our staff, customers, suppliers, contractors, and the public at large.
Support the Employment of Veterans:
We will actively support the employment of veterans by acknowledging their military skills and qualifications during our recruitment and selection process. Additionally, we will work with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to facilitate the employment of Service leavers, helping them transition smoothly into civilian careers.
Be Undertsanding of Service Spouses & Partners:
We will support the employment of Service spouses and partners. We’ll also collaborate with the Forces Families Jobs Forum to create opportunities and provide flexibility in leave for Service spouses and partners, especially during and after a partner’s deployment.
Volunteer in Cadet Organisations:
We are committed to supporting our employees who volunteer as leaders in military cadet organisations.
Fundraise for Armed Forces Charities:
We will actively engage in fundraising efforts to support Armed Forces charities. Our employees who volunteer to assist these charities will receive our full support and encouragement.
Community and Sponsorships
Cross Country Carries have built a reputation of supporting the local community and charity causes where possible. The UK Armed Forces Covenant is another way to do so as it not only strengthens the community’s businesses, but also gives people the confidence to know they are supported by local businesses.
Ben Smith, General Manager at Cross Country Carriers commented, “At Cross Country Carriers Ltd, we stand united with our Armed Forces Community, committed to providing equal and special care when needed. Honouring their sacrifices, we promote employment, champion families, and support our heroes through various initiatives. Together, we build a stronger, more compassionate tomorrow.”
Cross Country Carriers understand the value that serving personnel, reservists, veterans, and military families bring to our business and our country. By upholding the principles of the covenant, we aim to create a welcoming and supportive environment where all individuals are treated with the respect and dignity they deserve, regardless of their military background. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
